Ahead of the first local election scheduled to take place in 2020, the Angola’s Cabinet Council has for analysed several draft-laws for the country.

The said legislative package includes the Draft-Law on Local Elections, Draft-Law on the Organisation and Functioning of Local Governments, Draft-Law on the Institutionalization of Local Governments, among others.

This legislative package will soon be submitted to the National Assembly (Angolan Parliament), as understood from the final communiqué of the Cabinet Council meeting chaired by the Head of State, João Lourenço.

The same meeting also analysed draft-laws relating to the criminalization of certain negative postures while driving a motor-vehicle and the restructuration of the crude-oil sector.
