Chrisland University holds 9th Annual Information Technology Development Programme

Chrisland University, Abeokuta played host to the 9th Annual Information Technology Development Programme. The 2-day Information Technology programme which started on Thursday, November 23, tagged 'E-Agriculture: Panacea for Economic Sustainability' is aimed at proffering information technology solutions to boost the Agricultural sector which is a critical part of the nation's economy.

The conference which is also the first of its kind at Chrisland University provides a platform for the institution to harness the information technology potentials of its students. Several IT innovations were on display at the 2-day conference, worthy of mention is an innovative farmer-buyer solution presented by Priscilla Agbelusi, a 200 level student of Computer Science which presents an interface for farmers to meet with potential buyers for the purposes of initiating trade between the two.

The conference featured Quiz competition, Innovation Presentation and Accenture Software Challenge. Keynote speaker at the conference was the Managing Director of Bluechips, Mr. Kazeem Tewogbade, while the guest speaker is Dr. OkanladeLawal Adebowale. The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola was the chief host.
