Louise Warmenwoah, Project Coordinator for SRDC, Madam Deborah Wright among others.

On her on part, the project coordinator, Madam Deborah Wright thanked the former Minister and her team for envisioning a public library for Liberia, adding that SRDC was glad to be in Liberia to initiate it.

She said, "A nation which desires growth must recognize the importance of Library as a tool for enriching the school curriculum and advancing the education agenda of the nation and that's one of the reasons why we are here - to support the idea of a library and to implement it.

"The Library is established  and supported by the community, the community provides access to knowledge and information through a wide array of resources and services which is available equally to all members of the community regardless of age, gender, religion, economic and employment status, which means anybody within the community can use it anytime they want."

Madam Wright added that public library is a global phenomenon which will enable informal education opportunities for citizens in the community to enrich individuals in different subject areas.

"At SRDC, we are a pan-African organisation, we believe in reaching out to our brothers and sisters and that is one of the reasons why we are here.

The SRDC team have already begun the process of gathering wonderful books for the Library. We are just getting started, its going to be hard work but we are excited by this challenge," she stated.
