The immediate past President of the Historical Society of Nigeria, HSN, Prof. Ogbogbo has been elected as the Vice President of the Association of African Historians at the association';s ongoing conference in Cote d';voire.

He made this known in a chat with CEOAfrica on Thursday following the election of new executives of the association.

It would be recalled that the Prof. Ogbogbo who is also the Head of History department at the University of Ibadan recently completed his tenure as President of the HSN. Under his leadership, the HSN recorded laudable achievements chief among which was bringing history back to the school curriculum in Nigeria after the subject was expunged over two decades ago.

He indeed helped reposition the HSN to a well deserved lofty height. He has now been elected into a bigger office which also comes with bigger responsiblities and given his track record there is no doubt that he will embrace the added responsibilities and face the challenges ahead squarely in a bid to achieving set goals.

Again his new position as Vice President of the Association of African Historians proves there is always a reward for hard work and commitment and will definitely spur him on to greater success.
