A 24-year-old man, Mustapha Abdullahi, of Gobarau Quarters, Katsina, was on Thursday, remanded in prison custody till January 10, 2019, for allegedly sodomising a seven-year-old boy.

He reportedly threatened to kill his victim if he revealed what transpired between them to anyone.

The victim’s father, Yusha’u Abdulhamid, reported the incident to the police last Friday.

Abdullahi was said to have lured his victim to the back of a primary school classroom block in Katsina, where he had carnal knowledge of him through the anus.

The accused reportedly offered the victim N10 after the act and threatened him with death should he make the affair public.

Abdullahi was arraigned at the Katsina Senior Magistrates’ Court on charges of “unnatural offence and criminal intimidation,” which ran contrary to Sections 284 and 397 of the Penal Code.

His plea was not taken as he was arraigned for the purpose of “cognizance.”

The police prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado, told the court that investigation was still in progress and sought for an adjournment, which the judge granted.

Meanwhile, a 43-year-old man, Hamisu Idris, of Kuntaru Birinkuka village in Mashi Local Government Area of the state, has been charged to court for culpable homicide.

The charge followed a complaint by one Ali Danjuma of the same village, who accused Idris of attacking and inflicting injuries on him with an axe, leading to multiple fractures.

The prosecutor told the court that investigation was still in progress and pleaded for an adjournment, which was granted by the magistrate, who remanded Idris in prison till January 14, 2019 when his case will come up for mention before Senior Magistrate Hajiya Dikko Fatile.
