The Executive Secretary of the African Academy of Languages, ACALAN, Dr. Lang Fafa has urged the working structures in the member states to brace up for tasks ahead.

He made the call at the ongoing Workshop for Cartographers and Demographers for the Linguistic Atlas of Africa in Abidjan earlier today.

"We are all ACALAN, our structures are the respective member states; departments, government institutions that exists in our member states are part of ACALAN. Any time we need to do something we turn to these government departments and institutions to do our work. It is only when we can't find the expertise in our government institutions or departments that we turn to the private sector."

He added that ACALAN is an intergovernmental organization that belongs to the African Union, AU, which belongs to the AU member states. He therefore enjoined government institutions in the member states to be ready when called upon for their service as it would be a service to their country and by extension the AU.
