Manchester United midfielder, Nemanja Matic is likely to miss his side’s Premier League clash with his former club, Chelsea this Saturday at Stamford Bridge due to a back injury he sustained while on international duty for Serbia, according to Sky Sports.

The report claimed that Matic remains a doubt for United’s crucial fixture against Maurizio Sarri’s side after failing to make a swift recovery from the back problem.

The 30-year-old, who is a key figure in the midfield for United, recently backed his manager, Jose Mourinho following his recent criticism of the Red Devils’ poor run of results.

“Mourinho knows what he is doing for sure.” Sportmole quoted Matci as saying.

“You probably know that also. It’s good for us also. He is one of the best managers in the world, you know what he won in his career so that shows you everything.

“I think he is dealing very well with the pressure. That is why he is here in Manchester United. I don’t see any difference.”
