Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria marks World Pharmacists day

The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Oyo state chapter have joined their counterparts around the world to mark World Pharmacists day.

This year's celebration was tagged "Pharmacists; your medicines expert". As part of activities marking the world pharmacists day, the Oyo state chapter of PSN flagged off the “Drug Abuse Round Table” at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan earlier today to thrash out issues relating to drug abuse and its consequent threats to the society.

The event had in attendance stakeholders from PSN, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), State Teaching Service Commission, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), National Orientation Agency (NOA), Civil Defence, NAFDAC, NDLEA, Customs, Students, Civil Societies and the general public.

The chairman of the event, Hon. Silas Okunlola who was ably represented by Dr. Funsho Ani noted that as good as drugs are, they also have their side effects and called on collaboration from stakeholders to help contain the dangers posed by the menace to the society.
