It was indeed a colourful occasion in the home of Late Mr. Simon Agubeze Oforjeh in Umudioka Community of Anambra State as friends and family gathered for the thanksgiving ceremony of Reverend Father Simon Uchechukwu Agubeze following his priestly ordination.
A Thanksgiving mass was held earlier in the day at the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Umudioka, Anambra state where he received Christ in the Eucharist for the first time.
Reverend Father Okoye Martins meanwhile extolled the qualities of the newly ordained Priest. He said, " Father Simon Agubeze, not just about the priesthood is a good man, he has a large heart and very intelligent. From the aura of today';;s occasion, the people that came here from far and near, you can testify that he is a good person".
He further expressed his delight as seeing Father Simon become a priest of the Roman Catholic.
In a similar vein, Brother Emmanuel Adekoya, a seminarian of the Oblates of St. Joseph, Nigeria was in a mixed zone following the ordination of the new priest. He said, " I am sad because he is leaving us in the Seminary but I am equally happy because he has to progress in life, so it is inevitable. So I am really happy about that and thank God for his life".
