The much awaited ACALAN online TV will be launched at the meeting of experts on African languages in Lome, Togo between 2nd and 5th October 2018.
The ACALAN online TV is aimed at fostering Africa’s integration and development through the promotion of the use of African languages, hence help in achieving the African Union vision of 2063.
ACALAN is a specialized Institution of African Union entrusted with the task of developing and promoting African languages to be used in all domains of the society in partnership with inherited colonial languages.
Thus, a need to establish ACALAN TV to further serve as a medium of passing African languages to the younger generations.
Worthy of note that ACALAN TV is positioned for Africa Union achieving its set ‘vision 2063’ which is to make sure that African languages “become a pride for future generations of the continent, to help the younger generations recognize the socio-cultural, cognitive, and the economic value of African languages”.
