The chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. T.Y. Buratai met with the president and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Muhammed Buhari on Friday to brief him on efforts on combating insurgency in the North East.

The President was impressed with the military’s efforts in fighting insurgency in the troubled region. He also commended the efforts of the gallant troops of the Nigerian Army in neutralizing bandits in the north east especially in Zamfara state.

The Chief of Army Staff pledged the absolute loyalty of the army to the Commander-in-Chief assuring him of the army’s commitment to protect the territorial integrity of the country.

Relatives’ peace has since returned to the north east following a period of terror unleashed on the region by the Boko haram terrorist dect.
