The African Academy of Languages (ACALAN) has been flying the flag for Africa';s integration and development by empowering African languages since its formation in 2001.

The Acting Executive Secretary of the academy, Dr. Lang Fafa Dampha has been at the forefront of this struggle since assumption of office in 2015. Prior to the period he assumed office as Acting Executive Secretary, Dr. Lang has served (and still serving) as the Senior Research and Programme Officer of ACALAN where he conducts and coordinate research and programme of the academy.

The academy has made giant strides in recent years and unsurprisingly, Dr. Fang has been central to all of this. He has led by example, he has brought his expertise and experience to the fore in charting the course for the academy.

He has demonstrated over time that he is a thorough researcher and has brought this quality to bear in his current position at ACALAN, by identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

The academy is about to establish a Pan-African school of Translation and Interpretation and also launch an online TV, all dedicated to integrating Africa by promoting African languages in all domains of life in Africa. It is indeed a landmark achievement for ACALAN under the leadership of Dr. Lang. Without a doubt, this will bring about a multiplying effect of promoting the knowledge and usage of African languages.

One can therefore make bold to say without any reservation that ACALAN under Dr. Lang is moving in the right direction.
