Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Barnabas Gemade has defected from the party to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) few weeks after joining PDP.

Gemade was one of the 14 All Progressives Congress (APC) senators who recently decamped from the ruling party.

Gemade made this known in Makurdi, the Benue state capital while speaking to journalists.

According to him, “My record of achievement and scorecard in the Senate in the last seven years has placed me on a good stead to clinch the ticket in the primaries and defeat my opponent in the coming election.”

“It has always been the turn of Kwande since I started contesting election to the Senate. I started contesting election to the Senate from 2007 which I lost.

“At the time I contested with a candidate from Kwande, I contested in 2011 which I won and I contested in 2015 and I won.”
