chieftain and presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Charles Udeogaranya has asked the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, to nullify the just conducted Ekiti gubernatorial election where Dr Kayode Fayemi emerged winner.

Udeogaranya According to him, “I am appalled that with thousands of laws- upholding agencies of government, ranging from Police, DSS, Civil Defence and military deployed to ensure the rule of law in supervising the Ekiti governorship election, electoral illegality and malpractices were still the order of the day as videos in social media revealed and as reports showed.

“One of the sacrosanct laws of election is that campaign ceases a day before the election, but shreds of purported evidence of vote buying on the day of the election with such magnitude that has never been witnessed before, was beyond comprehension by any civil-minded citizen.

“I, therefore, urge that the election should be nullified if the shreds of evidence are confirmed true and the main purported culprit’s parties (APC and PDP as shown on videos) of massive vote-buying be banned in a rescheduled election. “We must as a nation and a people who desire a better Nigeria, eschew all manner of corrupt practices and uphold nobility in all ramifications of governance”.
