ARMY GENERAL CALLS ON FG FOR INCREASED SECURITY ALLOCATION

Lieutenant Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, the Chief of Army Staff on Sunday highlighted the need for an increased in budgetary allocation to security in view of the widespread security challenges in the country.

This was gathered in the statement of the Army General as he was attending the question from the journalists at the graduation ceremony of the Basic Counter Terrorism Courses 12 of 2013 Nigerian Army Training Centre in Kontagora Niger State.

Ihejirika in his speech appreciated the good works of the Federal Government in funding security and urged the National Assembly to increase budgetary allocation to the security sector, highlighting that more hands needed to be trained in counter-terrorism in order to meet with the level of personnel required to meet with the current security challenges in Nigeria.

He said that the North-East sub-region especially have recorded a lot of improvement in security giving that the officers produced from the place are impacting positively on the war against terror.
