BREAKING! Former Kogi First Lady, Farida Wada joins National Assembly race

Ahead of 2019 general election, the wife of the former Governor of Kogi State, Mrs. Farida Ijeoma Wada, has joined the race for the seat of Ikwuano/Umuahia constituency of the Federal House of Representatives.
Mrs. Wada, who hailed from Ohuhu Umuahia clan in Abia state, disclosed this to newsmen, shortly after a PDP function held in Umuahia, the state capital, on Friday.
She explained that, she was vying for the National Assembly election to encourage more women participation in politics, assuring of quality representation, if given chance to serve the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia in the green chamber come 2019.
According to the former Kogi first lady, “I have a political ambition come 2019. I intent to contest for the position of the member, representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency”.
“We think that the system can do better. The system needs to give women a lot more opportunities to be part of what is going on in the Nigeria system.”
“If I emerge as Reps member, I assure the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia constituency to expect quality representation.
“I will be bringing constituency projects that will improve a lot of our people. They should expect the best from the system”.
She added that,”Women are not well represented in the leadership of this country. We are agitating for more inclusion of women in politics.
” We want to see more women out there, participating. We want to see more women elected into offices.
