NIGERIA (Oyo)- The Nigerian Police Force, Oyo State Command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, paraded a man and his wife for using young girls as prostitutes under the pretence of getting job for them.

The suspects, Falusi Temilola, 45, and his wife Falusi Hellen, 43, were said to have held four victims hostage at Sharp Corner Hotels, Orita Aperin area in Ibadan where they use them to satisfy the sexual urge of “customers” and fattened their own pockets.

While speaking to journalists during the parade, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Command, DSP Olabisi Clet-Ilobanafor gave the names of the victims as: Endurance Erabor, 15, Jessica John, 25, Princess Igbinedion, 17, and Tina Nosa, 20, all from Benin City in Edo State.

She said “The Criminal Investigation Department of the police received information about a young girl who was said to have been brought from Benin for prostitution, but she refused to be sexually abused.

“When the report got to our command, our men went there to verify the authenticity of the matter, but when they got there, not only do they discovered that the report was true, but also realised that there are other three young girls working in the so-called hotel as prostitutes.

“We discovered that the people behind the whole show are Mr and Mrs Falusi. The wife is from Edo State, while the husband is from Ekiti.

“When we interrogated the girls, they told us that they came to Ibadan due to series of reasons like loss of parents and lack of help that prompted them to search for greener pastures. They said the woman told them that she has a beer parlour and she would bring them to come and work as attendants, only for them to discover that they will be working as prostitutes.

“The one that refused to be abused was brought to Ibadan along with another victim last Sunday, while the remaining two have spent close to one year in the business.

DSP Ilobanafor said the Police, on the completion of their investigation, shall charge the suspects to court, while the young ladies shall be rehabilitated through the intervention of agencies like NAPTIP.

She then advised young girls to be weary of people who always promise to get them jobs outside their environment, adding that they should try and seek for greener pasture at familiar terrain, rather than looking for job where they may fall victim of prostitution and slavery.

In another development, the Police have received a report about an unknown man who attacked some members of the Calvary Church Ayekale, Agugu, Ibadan during a night vigil on February 26, 2014.

DSP Ilobanafor disclosed that the suspect, who is at large, used machete to attack the presiding pastor of the church, Rev. Oladimeji, his wife, Mrs. Oladimeji, and two girls identified as Anu and Kausara Isiaka around 2.am that fateful day.

She said Kausara died due to severe wounds she sustained during the attack, while the remaining victims are recuperating at an undisclosed hospital.

DSP Ilobanafor added the police gathered from the pastor that Kausara got converted from Islam to Christinity; a situation which displeased her father, Mr. Isiaka who, according to the pastor, had threatened several times to deal with the girl while she (Kausara) ran to the church for refuge before the attack.

However, police have arrested Mr. Isiaka for proper investigation, while the case is now in care of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigation.
