An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan yesterday assured that accelerated hearing will be given to suit on the inauguration of the Interim All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.

Justice Muktar Abimbola adjourned till March 5, 2014, the pre-trial conference in the case between Barrister Abdul-Raheem Shittu and APC, Oyo State governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Chief Niyi Adebayo, chief Akin Oke, Alhaji Razak Folorunsho and Mr Sulaiman Abiodun Oyaremi.

Barrister Shittu in suit number I/128/14, had sought an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the state harmonization committee constituted by the APC from exercising any if it's powers pending the determination of the suit. He also among others sought order restraining the defendants from distributing members registration materials.

Shittu in his statement of fact informed the court that the present structure of Oyo state harmonization committee is inadequate and unlawful and ought not to be allowed to function without his membership as required by the agreement between the merging parties.

He also argued that he was completely sidelined from the inauguration process as the defendants refused to restore his name in the list of those inaugurated as submitted by the CPC leadership in Oyo State. He further added that the defendants had hurriedly inaugurated Oyo State Harmonization Committee on Tuesday 28,2014.

The Defence counsel to defendants, Bowofade Aderemi, filed a statement of defence  but was served on Barrister Shittu, less than 24 hours to the hearing on Monday. Shittu however agreed to turn in his reply by Tuesday February 26,2014.

For accelerated hearing, Justice Abimbola, availed the counsels the opportunity of accelerated hearing which culminated in the adjournment for pre trial conference on Wednesday March 5,2014.
