The just celebrated released of Oba Lekan Balogun’s twin from the kidnapper’s den did not just happen; further investigation by CEOAfrica revealed that a sum of ten million naira was paid as ransom for their release.

Recall that CEOAfrica reported yesterday that the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Odude and His Royal Majesty Oba Lekan Balogun confirmed that the twins, who were abducted seven days ago, regained their freedom in Lagos on Monday evening. While speaking with CEOAfrica correspondent, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun said ransom amount of ten million naira was paid for the release of his twins.

CEOAfrica gathered that the twins have since been moved to an undisclosed hospital for medical check-up and as at press time, Oba Balogun said he has not seen the twins but he had spoken with them after their release.

According to him, “my wife and the mother of the twins, Mrs. Funmilayo Balogun had gone to Lagos to monitor the medical check-up of the twins and bring them back to Ibadan. On-the-spot assessment by my wife reinforced my belief and conviction that the children were released unhurt. They could have possibly reunited with the family today, but for the results of some of the tests carried out on the twins being awaited.”
