Prior to a trending rumour that the former governor of Oyo state Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja may leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) anytime soon.
Senator Ladoja confirmed the story to be true to CEOAfrica this morning.
Speaking to CEOAfrica in a telephone interview, Ladoja said his followers are not comfortable with the way the National Executives of the party is handling the so called harmonization list in Oyo State chapter of PDP.
He said ‘‘we are the people at the grassroots and we are much more interested in winning the next elections in Oyo State, we are not comfortable with the way the National Executive of PDP is handling the so called harmonization in Oyo State, that is why we are at the point of moving to another party.
Some people said they will take the party to court because the election of the Oyo PDP executives was done in accordance with the law but for us we are not interested in going to any court. Our focus is identifying what the grass root want and working with them’’.
The Osi Olubadan of Ibadan who left Accord party for PDP in 2017, said ‘‘the most important thing for me is what the grassroots want, that is what I will always stand for.’’
Ladoja said a committee is currently working and consulting on the next party they should be moving to.
Meanwhile one of the leading gubernatorial hopeful of PDP in Oyo State and a strong supporter of Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Oloye Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli said “Baba Ladoja has not said anything of such to me, so I am not aware of him moving to another party.”
