Roma striker Edin Dzeko has admitted that he is happy to still be at the club after playing a key part in the famous Champions League win against Barcelona.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina international saw a move to Chelsea collapse in the winter window as the Premier League champions were unwilling to meet his asking price.
Dzeko has now written his name in Roma folklore with his goals in both legs of the Italian outfit’s 4-4 away goals win over Barca, as they recovered from three down to progress through to the semi-finals against all the odds.
“Now I can play in the semi-final too,” he said. “I’m not interested in money. It was not easy, but I stayed here for this kind of game. I’m happy and I think the club are too.
“You cannot imagine, I mean it was incredible, crazy – I don’t know how to describe it. At the end, we did it when definitely nobody believed in us. Obviously, we had to believe, even before the game.
