Nigerian Academy of Pharmacy Honors Chrisland University VC, NAFDAC DG

The Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy is set to honor the Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Abekokuta, Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola and The Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Professor Moji Christianah Adeyeye on March 1st, 2018.

Prior to her current appointment as the Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University in 2017, Professor Peace was the first female Dean of the faculty of pharmacy where she served for two tenures between 2013 and 2017.

Professor Peace Babalola who was the First Female Pharmacist Professor in the University of Ibadan, is an erudite scholar and an administrator. The Obafemi Awolowo University alumna has received over twenty fellowships, awards and grants across the globe including the World Bank/NUC scholarship at the University of Columbia, Canada, Research Scholar at Hartford Hospital, USA, MacArthur Fellowship at College of Pharmacy and Temple University, USA among others.

Meanwhile, Professor Moji Adeyeye, the Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) was an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics and Manufacturing Science at the Duquesne University, Pittsburgh From August 1989 – June 1994. In July 1994, she became an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics and Manufacturing Science in the same Duquesne University where she eventually became a Professor of Pharmaceutics and Manufacturing Science in 2003.

The NAFDAC DG in May 2010, became the founding Chair of Biopharmaceutical Sciences and Professor of Pharmaceutics and Drug Product Evaluation at the College of Pharmacy, Roosevelt University in Schaumburg, Illinois a post she held till August 2017.

The award night which will hold at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos state will witness the presence of professionals from the pharmaceutical society of Nigeria and other eminent personalities across the country.
