The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has lifted ban on campaign by aspirants contesting for chairmanship and councillorship positions in the 33 local governments and 35 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across the state.

The commission disclosed this in the amended election time table released on Monday.

According to the time table, campaigns by political parties and conduct of primaries are to hold till February 23, 2018.

The time table signed by the electoral body’s chairman, Mr Jide Ajeigbe, has tbe following schedule:

February 28 to March 4 – Screening of candidates for councillorship positions

March 6 to 10 – Screening of candidates for chairmanship positions

March 25 to 29 – Picking of nomination forms by cleared candidates

April 20 – Names of qualified candidates to be published

May 11 – Electioneering campaigns

May 12 – Elections
