The best is yet to come from the administration of Senator Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi on the areas of road construction and rehabilitation, as the Oyo state governor  has embarked on huge rehabilitation and construction of roads as part of government effort of improving the quality of life of its citizenry as well as opening the state to new investors.

Mr. Gbenga Akintola, Special Assistant to the governor on Infrastructure stated this during a press briefing held at the Oyo State Ministry of Information complex, Ibadan on Wednesday 17th January 2018.

“Ajimobi is a governor who does not care who has jurisdiction over any road, but makes sure that bad roads are fixed as it is a threat to life and property,” he said.

“He has also proven that turning Oyo state into a huge construction site is not his major priority but ensuring that all the road projects embarked upon by his administration across the state are successfully completed to uphold his zero tolerance for potholes agenda,’’ he added.

Stressing that the responsibility of the Oyo State Public Works Department, which is under the State Ministry of Works and Transport is maintenance and rehabilitation of road networks across the state, he cited Mokola, Customs, Sabo and several other roads as those that have been maintained within the state capital, Igbora bridge, Oroki face 1 and Ogbomosho road as the maintenance is not limit just the state capital but cut across the state.

Akintola reeling out the work ahead of the maintenance/rehabilitation Agency, he pleaded with the road users to bear any inconveniences it will cause as they will be injecting some discomfort on them during the period but noted that the essence is to make their motor experience better.

Explaining further, the SA said there will be night operations for strategic roads as safety signs to indicate that workers are on ground will be available.

He gave out their rapid response phone number as 08167862742 and roadmaintenance@oyostate.org.ng for Emails saying they are open to complaints and information’s to make Oyo state road networks better.
