There was drama at Guruve magistrate court on Monday (yesterday) when s_ex workers flocked to hear Tafadzwa Chamonyoka (23), affectionately known as Chamoz or Baba Guruve';s, fate for swindling his company';s $5800.

Appearing before Guruve magistrate Artwel Sanyatwe, Chamoz pleaded guilty through his lawyer Linda Saunyama of Cover Link insurance company and was sentenced to 12 months in jail.

S_ex workers who filled the court room to capacity wept uncontrollably when their pay master (Chamoz) was sent to prison, prompting prison officers and members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) to lead them out of the court premise.

The state prosecutor Ms Spiwe Makarichi told the court that Chamoz swindled Maintain Investments'; US5800 through Ecocash from the period of March last year to 8 January 2018.

He withdrew company funds from their Ecocash merchant line and transferred it to agents where he got cash out ranging from $50 -300.

In passing sentence Sanyatwe slapped him with 12 months jail term three of which were suspend on good behaviour for five years, an additional five months were suspended on condition that he restitute the swindled $5800 hence he will serve four months.
