Dangote truck falls off Ibadan Bridge Injures 2 people

Two people were on Friday trapped in a motor accident which occurred along Lagos-Ibadan express road. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Oluyole Unit Commander, Sanya Adeoye who confirmed the incident, said the accident occurred on the Soka Bridge, 127 kilometers from Lagos around 7:15 am.

He said that the accident involved a Sino Truck with the inscription Dangote Company and registration number Benue XA 301 GBG.

 

The accident, according eye witness, occurred around 7.15 am after the driver lost control of the vehicle and in a bid to avoid the accident; the truck fell off the bridge, injuring two people. Though, nobody died in the accident but the victims who sustained severe injuries were immediately rushed to Lad Medical Centre, Orita- Challenge for prompt treatment.

 

The victims of the accident, the eye witness included a woman and a male child.The driver was said to have been trapped in the truck for several hours after the accident occurred. When CEOAFRICA visited the scene efforts were still been made by sympathizersand Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials to remove the driver from the wreckage of the truck where he had been trapped. Different instruments like Cutlass, axe and others were used to break the truck before the driver could be removed.

 

The driver, when he was eventually removed from the wreckage suffered a

badly broken leg. Some residents of the area, who spoke, said that was not the first time vehicle would from the bridge while calling on the state government to take urgent step to address the problem.
