PAKISTAN- Late top Pakistani Police officer, Chaudhry Aslam, will be buried today at Karachi police garden headquarters.

The fearless officer, who was known for his campaign against Taliban, was killed in a bomb blast on Thursday.

Chaudhry Aslam, the head of Karachi's anti-terror unit, survived a number of attempts on his life but was killed in a bomb attack on his convoy.

The Pakistani Taliban said they carried out Thursday's attack.

A spokesman said Mr Aslam had been targeted as he had "killed, tortured and wounded" Taliban members.

Media reports say security will be tight at the funeral which top police officials and politicians are expected to attend.
