Accord Party and PDP take over Lam first year remembrance *State government Organised different first year remembrance.

Former governors of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Chief Christopher Alao-Akala on Monday joined thousands of people to mark the first year remembrance of the former governor and leader of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN),late Lam Adesina residence where they made donations to the  'Lam Care Foundation' which was launched in  his memory

 

Speaking, Ladoja described Lam Adesina as a God fearing man who lived all his life to serve Allah.He promised to donate the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira Only (N100, 000) monthly to the foundation for life. "There is need to donate into this wonderful foundation to help the needy in other to continue to honour the memory of Late Lam Adesina" Ladoja said .Lam Adesina was a great man, selfless, one who loves the masses.  Also, Alao- Akala while speaking at the remembrance described Lam Adesina as a great man, who was selfless and loving towards everyone.

 

Although he did not mention the figure he donated to assist the foundation publicly,he promised to send his cheque to assist the foundation before Friday. Earlier in his welcome address, the first son of late Lam Adesina, Dr Ayo Adesina said the Ayo Lam Care foundation was launched in other to immortalise the memory of his father. Ayo Adesina said that his father was a philanthropist till his death and he would ensure that the selfless legacies of his father continue to live on.

 

He said the care foundation was established early 2013 and had since donated different materials to charity homes among others. The Fidau prayers was offered by Islamic leaders led by the Chief Imam of Ibadan land Suara Haruna for the repose of the soul of Lam Adesina.

 

Other eminent son of Oyo state who witnessed the program are,Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, the Aare Musulumi of Ibadan land Arisekola Alao, Engineer Femi Babalola, chairman of Odua investment, Barrister Sharafadeen Ali among others.

Meanwhile the state government also organised another prayer session in the remembrance of the late governor of the state, held at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.

 

Among dignitaries present at the stadium are, the Former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Interim Chairman of All Progressives Congress, Chief Bisi Akande, Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, former governor of Oyo State, Chief Omololu Olunloyo, Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Alhaja Monsurat Sunmonu, Senator Ayo Adeseun.

 

Others are, Gen Adedayo Popoola, former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Michael Koleosho, Iyalode of Ibadan land, Aminat Abiodun, former deputy governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarunmi among others.

In his address, Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi described Late Lam Adesina as his teacher, father and political leader.

 

He sued for peace among any warring factor in the party in the interest of the party, the state and the memory of Lam Adesina."Some people are calling themselves Lamist to the core, they do not even know that I am one of the core followers of Lam Adesina also because when I was vying for this

Governorship seat, Asiwaju Tinubu and some other leaders of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), took me to him and he blessed me among several candidate as the governor of this state." Ajimobi appealed to all members of APC and other warring factions to shield their sword and allow peace to reign for the progress of the party, state and to honour the memory of Lam Adesina.
