Super Eagles Midfielder John Obi Mikel, was in action for Chelsea yesterday when they beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirate stadium to clinch Capita One Cup quarter-final place.

CEOAFRICA sports desk gathered that the AFCON winner played the entire 90 minutes of the encounter which saw Coach Jose Mourinho making 10 changes to the team that defeated Manchester City in an English Premier League match over the weekend.

Despite the changes, Chelsea was too strong for Arsene Wenger-tutored side on their home turf at the Emirate Stadium.

Goals from Cesar Azpilicueta and Juan Mata was all Chelsea needed to condemn Arsenal to the defeat which also made it nine unbeaten matches for Jose Mourinho as Chelsea Manager against the gunners.

Statistics showed that Mikel made 90% pass accuracy from 70 touches on the ball. He also won 25% of all his aerial duels while completing one successful dribble and one successful tackle. He received a yellow card for a foul on Jack Wilshere.
