CEOAFRICA gathered that the Federal Government Nigerian has disclosed plans to make Lome, Togo a trade centre for Nigerian manufactured products in the West African sub-region.

This was followed by the huge success recorded by the Solo-Exhibition of Made-Nigeria Manufactured products in lome, Togo which was organised by the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) of which had a total of 67 Nigerian manufacturing companies participating.

 According to our source, Mr Aliyu Lawal, Acting Managing Director of the Agency, who made this known at a post-exhibition conference in Abuja said Nigeria exported products to Togo was $40, 579 million making the country the third largest importer of Nigerian non-oil export within region.

According to him, for Nigeria to reap the benefit of the exhibition and maximize the opportunities in Togo market, there is need to make Nigeria products competitive in the international market by ensuring issues like poor infrastructure, high lending rates from banks among others issues are addressed properly in order to transform the economy and catapult Nigeria to the league of 20 world largest economy by the year 2020.
