CEOAFRICA sports desk gathered that the early Saturday London Derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea has ended in a 1-1 draw.

The match which was played at the White Hart Lane, witnessed a lot of fire powers from the Londoners, but the homers i.e Tottenham took the lead in the 19th minute of the game through Gylfi Sigurdsson in the first half dominated by the host.

After series of half-cahnces for both sides, Sigurdsson lashed on to a lay-off from Roberto Soldado to cooly finish past Petr Cech in goal for Chelsea.

The host continued to enjoy lots of possession with Cech coming to recue several times.

However, the visitors created a chance to level when Eden Hazard threatening with a deflected strike before Oscar fired straight at Hugo Lloris.

The second half started with Chelsea threatening through Torres, Hazard and Oscar, but the breakthrough came for the visitor when Juan Mata was introduced. He played a free-kick into the Tottenham’s box, while Captain John Terry headed past Lloris to level at 1-1.

Meanwhile, Fernando Torres was given the marching order in the 82nd minute for a second bookable offence for clashing with Jan Vertonghen.

However, despite plenty of pressure from the home side, they were unable to take advantage of their extra man during the final eight minutes.

David Luiz partnered John Terry in the heart of defence, with Gary Cahill dropping to the bench, while Frank Lampard took the place of Andre Schurrle and Torres started ahead of Samuel Eto'o in attack.

Tottenham were unchanged from teams that played Cardiff last week.
