China Court Sentenced Son Of Army General to 10-Years Imprisonment for Rape

From China, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that a court in the country has sentenced the son of a high-profile army general in the country to jail for rape.

Li Tanyi, 17, was sentenced to ten years in jail along with four others for raping a woman at a Beijing hotel in February after having drinks. Li Tanyi is the son of General Li Shuangjiang, known for his renditions of patriotic songs on television. His mother, Meng Ge is also a famous singer in China’s People’s Liberation Army.

Sources disclosed that Li Tianyi already have crime records because he was sentenced to detention for a year over a road rage accident in 2011.

The case was heard at the Haidian Court in north-west Beijing. The other defendants also received jail terms ranging from three to 12 years.
