US AMBASSADOR TO LIBERIA SIGNS A $75,000 FUNDING AGREEMENT

The United States Ambassador to Liberia Deborah R. Malac, in the submission to provide assistance to several community-based groups across Liberia, has signed $75,000 funding agreement.

According to the report, the “Ambassador’s Special Self Help Fund” has provided US$50,000 in grant money to implement various community development initiatives in areas of income generation, agriculture and skills development.

The United States African Development Foundation on the other hand has contributed US$25,000 for community-based food security projects.

Speaking at the signing ceremony on Monday, 23 of September, the US Embassy in Mamba Point Manrovia, Ambassador Malac revealed that the Self-Help Fund is now one of the successful assistance programs in Africa and covers the entire continent.

She further assert that the Self-Help Fund is a grassroots assistance program that lets the Ambassador respond quickly to small community-based projects that promise to have immediate impact.
