Agagu’s Death…A Monumental Loss, Says Vice-President Sambo

The death of former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu has been described as a monumental loss to the country, especially at this time when his political experience is needed most.

The above statement was said by Vice-President Arc. Namadi Sambo, when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased politician at his Gbadamosi Olawuyi residence, New Bodija, Ibadan. He was received by the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Funke Agagu, and Feyi Agagu, son of the deceased.

The Vice-President, who defies the torrential rainfall in Ibadan, described Agagu as a dedicated politician, whose vacuum would be very difficult to fill, especially within the Peoples Democratic Party for his immense wisdom and generous contribution.

“I want to say that Agagu will be greatly missed, not only by members of Peoples Democratic Party, but also by every Nigerian. I pray that the God should grant him eternal rest, and that He should give them (Agagu’s family) the fortitude to bear the loss,” he said.

The Vice-President Arrived Ibadan from Abuja at about 11.am, and was received by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Sen. Isiak Abiola Ajimobi, Deputy Governor Moses Alake Adeyemo, and immediate past governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala, Sen. Teslim Folarin and other members of the state’s cabinet, couple with PDP chieftains in Oyo State.

On his arrival, Vice-President, Arc. Namadi Sambo paid a royal visit to the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade I, where he explained to the royal father the purpose of visiting Ibadan.

The Vice-President was accompanied by Minister of States for FCT, Jumoke Akinjide, Deputy Chief-Whip of the Senate, Senator Hosea Agboola, House of Representative leader, Hon. Mulikat Akande, former deputy governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore and many more.

He had since returned to Abuja with his entourage.
