Nollywood star, Francis Duru advocates that novels stories should be packaged such that it is adaptable for film production to boost quality of film content and enhance the country’s international repute.

Speaking to the newsmen in Abuja, Duru disclosed that it is always very challenging for filmmakers to adopt most novel to suite the screen because of its extremely tight intellectual nature.

He advised that authors should make their stories more of entertaining in order for the film version to be successful in the Nigerian market.

He noted that the film industry in Nigeria is currently a commercial venture and so, filmmakers focused on producing films that met the demand of the public for profit making.

He also emphasized that filmmakers consider the fact that people generally subscribe to entertainment and leisure movies to avoid losing the huge investment in the venture.

He however urged writers to always consider the sensitivity and interest of the public when writing books meant for the Nigerian audience.
