Super Eagles goalkeeper and captain, Vincent Enyeama is one of five goalkeepers reportedly being linked with a January move to Liverpool, according to the Liverpool Echo.

It is no secret the Reds are in the market for a goalkeeper to challenge Simon Mignolet for the no.1 spot.

Victor Valdes, once of Barcelona but now recovering from a long-term knee injury, was looked at – but the Reds decided to ditch plans, with the Spaniard now training with Manchester United.

Enyeama, who was once linked with Bolton and Arsenal, according to the Liverpool-based newspapers is seeing as a superb shot stopper and a brilliant commander of his area by Reds boss,Brendan Rodgers. The goalkeeper started this season just as well with five clean sheets in his first six league games – and still only concedes an average of 0.7 goals per game – but has let in seven in his last three.

It was an incredible sequence from the Nigerian no.1 and, while no mistaking the role those in front of him in defence played, he became an impenetrable wall.

Last season, he kept 11 consecutive clean sheets for Lille, more than any other goalkeeper in Europe’s top five leagues.

At the age of 32, he would bring an experience some of the younger names linked with Liverpool wouldn’t.
