On the 22nd October marks the third day of the familiarization tour by the Oyo state Commissioner of Police CP A. Kola Sodipo, in a lecture with the community representatives of three local government he visited, which include olorunshogo, irepo and oorelope, explained why security must not be police duty alone.

According to the CP, he appealed to the members of the public to continue in their cooperation with the police, because there is nothing the police can do without their effort.

"Though the police are being paid for security, but it is our joint effort that will curb and eradicate crime and criminality in our society" CP said. However, when the community is assisting the police, there is always a better result to show for it.  

The onigbeti of Igbeti, Oba Emmanuel Oyekanmi Oyebisi welcome the Commissioner of Police to his palace and prayed that his tenure will be peaceful and God will continually protect and guide his steps. "We thought police is no go area, but reverse is the case" the community of Kisi land confessed with the effectiveness of the Oyo State Police Command.  In the other hand, the local government chairmen welcomed the CP to Oyo state and also wish him a pleasant stay here.

The commissioner appreciated them all for their support and concern for the police force and he promised to reward them by making sure peace reign in their various communities.

The Alepata of Igboho Oba Dr. Johnson Oyeyiola Olayide commended the Commissioner of Police for his kind heart and his flair for community policing, however he implored the commissioner to see into the crisis of kingship that has been disrupting the peace of these community.

The CP promised to provide solution to their general shortcomings which is man power and logistics, "shortly we will start recruitment of men because of the coming election" he promised.
