Ebola Virus Disease: Death Toll Nears 4500 – WHO

Thank God for Nigeria today, else the death toll would have crossed 10,000 by now...

The number of people who have died from the current Ebola outbreak has now reached 4,493, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Wednesday, October 15.

The international body has also raised an alarm saying that the situation in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone is getting worse.

A total of 8,997 cases of the diseases, including confirmed, probable and suspected cases, had also been reported as of Sunday, October 12.

The WHO report reads: “It is clear…that the situation in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone is deteriorating, with widespread and persistent transmission of (Ebola),”
