New research by a leading international sports marketing consultancy, has revealed that Real Madrid and Manchester United, have sold an average of 1.5million official replica jerseys worldwide annually in the past five years.

Both teams are widely recognised as the commercial giants of Spanish and English football respectively and have proved that much by have the two most popular shirts in football.

In third place is Barcelona. The Nou Camp outfit is followed by Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
