New DIGs get portfolios

The newly promoted DIGs have been assigned their portfolios by the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba

They are: David Omojola, former AIG Zone 11 now DIG ICT and Info-Tech, Dan’Azumi Job Doma, former force secretary, who is now 2IC to the Inspector General of Police, Hilary Okpara; former CP Bayelsa, now the DIG Finance and Administration,  Sotonye Wakama; former DIG Anti-terrorist Squad, now DIG Operations,  Ibrahim Maman Tsafe; former AIG Zone 2, now DIG Works,  Solomon Arise, former AIG Intelligence, is now DIG force CID, Salihu Argungu Hashidu, former AIG Zone 5 Benin City, now DIG Training, Christopher K. Katso, former Moderator NIPSS, now DIG Planning and Research,

According to the spokesman of the Police Service Commission, Ferdinard Ekpe, all the appointments were with effect from Wednesday.

Ekpe disclosed that the promotion was necessary because of the vacancies created by the recent retirements and promotion in the Nigeria police force. He state that the promotions will strengthen and reposition the force to tackle the problem of insecurity

The chairman of the commission, Mike Mbama Okiro congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to justify the new portfolios that have been handed over to them as the Nigeria police force is formulating and implementing new policies that will improve on the discipline and productivity in the Nigeria Police.
