The Ibibio-English family drama, "Akan" is set to hit cinemas in Uyo on 8th of August 2014. The comedy movie features Ime Bishop Umo, Alexx Ekubo,Venita Akpofure, Ema Etukudo, Grace Johnson and Archie Sam .

The movie is Produced by Archibong Sam, and directed by Desmond Eliot.

The movie revolves around a young man Akan, who after studying in the United States, comes home to introduce his fiancee sophie to his parents.

Unfortunately,his decision doesn't go down well with his father who would prefer a girl in tune with their ways and culture.
