The speculation that Second Republic presidential aide, Prof. Pat Utomi, might be eyeing Delta State governorship seat has gained further grounds with the flooding of the state with his campaign posters.

The posters printed on a green background said the time had come for change in Delta State.

They were pasted all over Asaba, the state capital, Warri and other major towns in the state.

But the two major political parties, All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party have denied knowledge of the governorship ambition of the professor of political economy.

Though rumour had it that Utomi is being proposed as a candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the 2015 election, the party has denied any knowledge of such an arrangement.

The state publicity secretary of the party, Mr. Deighen Macaulay, told our correspondent that Utomi is not a member of the party, let alone aspire to run under banner of PDP.

“I am not aware if he has registered with the party. If he has, I would know and also confirm to you,” the PDP publicity secretary said.

But the All Progressives Congress Publicity Secretary in the state, Prof. Isaac Adakpo, said Utomi is a member of the APC.
