GENERAL ATEWE CALLS FOR SYNERGY AMONG SECURITY AGENCIES

The Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation PULO SHIELD, Major General Emmanuel Jebe Atewe has called for more synergy among security Agencies in Beyelsa State even as he adviced oil thieves and illegal oil bunkerers in the Niger Delta area of his zero tolerance in the fight against oil thieves and other related crimes. He made the call during his maiden visit to heads of military and paramilitary organizations in Bayelsa state.  According to him, cooperation in the area of information sharing will go a long way at bringing harmony amongst security operators and cement   efforts to fight crimes   especially in the areas of oil theft, pipeline vandals and illegal oil bunkering in the state.”Our mandate in the Niger Delta is to protect oil installations and create an enabling environment for individuals and organizations to carry out their legitimate duties by fighting against oil related crimes and this the JTF will carry out professionally. “Emphasized Atewe .

While at the Central Naval Command, General Atewe was received by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Rear Admiral Peter Agba who assured the commander JTF of his support to the task force in carrying out its mandate. He described General Atewe as a seasoned infantry officer who carry out all tasks professionally. He used the forum and called on all stakeholders and opinion leaders in the region to support the Joint Task Force in fighting all kind of criminality in the State. 

During his arrival at the Mobility Command of the Nigerian Airforce, the commander was received by the Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Air vice Marshal Samuel Abosede.  In his remark, General Atewe said he was in the Command to solicit for support and cooperation in the area of aerial surveillance which according to him will go a long way to checkmate the activities of criminals in the creeks.  He described air support as vital to JTF operations considering the environment they are operating on.  The AOC in his response congratulated the Commander on his well dissevered appointment and promised to render necessary  support  .The Commander JTF also visited the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP  Hillary Okpara who in his remarks assured him  of

 The Nigerian Police’s support in all JTF activities as it concern fighting oil related crimes in the state. While seeking an excellent Police Military relationship for mutual understanding between the two organisations, Okpara thanked General Atewe for the visit which according to him will boost the morale of men under command.

The Commander also paid similar visits to the Director State Security Service Bayelsa state and the Commandant of the Nigerian security and civil Defence Corps, Mr Desmond Agu. General Atewe was accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Commander, Commodore Henry Ekpa, Component Commanders, Principal Staff Officers and Media coordinator Joint Military cell Lieutenant Colonel Mustapha Anka amongst others.
