While it is important to minimise risks, it takes a passionate entrepreneur to venture into a unique business and succeed in it. The CEOAfrica Personality of the Week is Kenya’s Gloria Michelle Otieno Muka, the CEO/HR Consultant at Recours Four Kenya Consultants, is one of such passionate entrepreneurs.

About Gloria Otieno: Gloria Michelle Otieno Muka is a Kenyan entrepreneur with a passion for human resources and skill development. She is the founder of Recours Four Kenya Consultants, a leading human resources consultancy and training firm based in Westlands, Nairobi.

Her Career: Gloria began her career as a promotions and sales agent in South Africa. Then she became a recruitment officer which exposed her to the intricacies of the human resource industry. She then proceeded to work with Kenya Airways for two years where she learned about customer service and the role that a client plays for any organization.

Establishment of Recours Four: However, lack of job satisfaction at Kenya Airways made Gloria quit her job at Kenya Airways. In addition to her passion for human resource, the desire to empower and advance youths in their chosen careers strongly influenced the establishment of Recours Four Consultants. Gloria was not satisfied with the manner in which hiring companies selected their candidates and the way youths conducted themselves during interviews, so she decided to establish her own form where she can help companies hire staff and train youths on employment procedures.

About Recours Four: Recours Four Consultancts deals with recruitment, training, psychometric testing and staff outsourcing. The organisation provides services for Banking and Financial industry, Real Estate, NGOs, Hospitality, Healthcare, Educational Institutions, Oil and Gas, Media and Communications, Information Technologies, Telecom, Agriculture and FMCG. Future Plans: Gloria is working towards attracting international investors that can assist in expanding her organisation as her future ambition is to see the company gain an international niche and basically set up in different countries starting with Africa first.
