There was outcry in Kebbi State, on Tuesday and Wednesday, over the alleged mutilation of a new born baby by a medical doctor attached to Zuru General Hospital.
Due to public outcries and accusation against the doctor (names not yet known), the Kebbi State Government has set up a committee to investigate videos of a new born baby that lost a limb allegedly due to a medical error at Zuru General Hospital.
A statement by Aisha Augie-Kuta, Senior Special Adviser (SSA), on new media to Governor Atiku Bagudu in Birnin-Kebbi confirmed that the governor gave the order immediately after viewing the worrisome photographs and video interview of a man who claimed to be a relative to the child.
Deputy Senate Leader, Bala Ibn Na’Allah,, representing Kebbi South in the National Assembly, the area where the incident occurred, had reportedly taken over the full medical treatment of the baby before the ugly incident occurred.
The senator, it was gathered, had already directed that the mother and baby be transported from their village in Danko to the Federal Medical Center, FMC in Birnin-Kebbi for full medical attention.
According to the statement, Na’ Allah said, “The mother and baby are already on their way to the FMC as a priority to save live.”
