Ahead of the country’s next general election in 2019, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State says the best way it will honour the late party stalwart and former governor of the state, Engr. Abdulkadir Kure, is to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in 2019.

According to Ceoafrica, PDP chairman in the state, Malam Tanko Beji, made the statement in Minna yesterday that “The death of Kure would further enhance our chances because we are determined to uphold his legacy. It is the unifying force that would bring all party faithful together to chart a common cause”, Beji said.

On whether PDP has the clout to wrestle power in 2019, he said the party has put in place necessary machinery which would aid its success, adding that the APC did not possess any special clout before it defeated PDP in the last election.

“What special clout did they have before they changed us in the 2015 elections? he queried, adding that, “We will change the change come 2019”.

Abdulkadir Kure was a Nigerian politician, under the platform of the PDP who served as Governor of Niger State in Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007.

He died in Germany on the 8th of January, 2017, at the age of 60.
