Cameroon-EU: Custom barriers dismantled

The Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) goes operational this 4th August 2016 in Cameroon following a Presidential Decree signed in relation to the agreement.

According to the agreement, some goods from European Unio will be imported into Cameroon tariff-free and vice versa.

The Presidential Decree lays down the rules for the application of the EPA.

It also specifies the types of goods to enjoy tax and custom exemptions. They include drugs, fertilisers and seedlings.

The agreement, dismantling custom barriers will operationalise in three steps over a period of years and will improve the country’s economic climate.
