Tottenham forward Clinton N’Jie is waiting for the renewal of his working visa as he prepares to join Marseille.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur forward Clinton N’Jie is still set to join Marseille despite picking up a new calf injury.

N’Jie, 22, only signed for Spurs last summer having hit eight goals for Lyon during the 2014/15 season, but already appears to be heading for the White Hart Lane exit door.

The Cameroon international failed to start a game in the Premier League last season, and missed almost five months of the season through injury in a frustrating campaign.

Now, manager Mauricio Pochettino looks set to be ruthless and move N’Jie on in order to sign Marseille winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, with N’Jie heading in the opposite direction.

The deal seems to have slowed down in recent days though, and Sky Sports have moved to explain the delay – but it isn’t to do with N’Jie picking up a calf injury.

Sky Sports claim that N’Jie is merely waiting for the renewal of his working visa in France having been out of the country for around a year, and once that is sorted, N’Jie should join Marseille on loan with a view to a permanent deal.

N’Jie’s calf injury is only going to keep him out for around ten days, meaning the deal shouldn’t collapse, and having completed a medical with Marseille over the weekend, the completion of the deal seems like only a matter of time now.

With Nkoudou waiting, Spurs should add another pacey wide man to their ranks, but manager Pochettino will be praying that Nkoudou is more of a success in North London than N’Jie was.
