Following the recent directive of Malam Adamu Adamu, Minister of Education, that there should hence forth be no second screening of candidates in the National Common Entrance examination for admission of pupils into Federal Government colleges, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has complied, stating that it was a welcome development.

In his remarks on the council’s compliance, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, Registrar/Chief Executive, NECO, Adamu was commended for the decision, as it would help in stabilising and repositioning the examination process and the education system as a whole in Nigeria.

According to Garba, the National Examinations Council has set up a committee to fashion a process for the implementation of the directive in order to see it take effect immediately.
