Emmanuel Emenike’s performance in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Premier League leaders Leicester City has  provoked anger among West Ham  fans who are calling for  the Hammers manager Slaven Bilic to send the forward out of Upton Park.

Bilic signed the   28-year-old striker   on  loan from Turkish outfit  Fenerbahce until the end of the season during the January transfer window, with  the Hammers  having  the option of making the deal permanent.

But the former Super Eagles striker  has hit the back of  the net just  twice in 12 appearances for the London outfit.

The South Africa 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Golden Boot winner  has yet to score a Premier League goal and the Hammers fans are disappointed he could not muster a single shot on target in his first 90-minute action  as West Ham searched for the winner against Leicester to boost their top four chances.

Emenike faced searing criticism from the fans following his showing in the encounter,  with some of them demanding his exit from the club.

One of the fans Jack Loft  tweeted, “Emenike is unquestionably one of the worst players I’ve seen play for West Ham.”

Phil Mead  tweeted, “Just shows Emenike has to go. As slow as a tortoise.”

“I can’t go another game watching Emenike,” Sam Clack wrote.

Meanwhile, former Croatia manager Bilic remains evasive about Emenike’s future  at West Ham.

The  former Hammers  defender  had  said he decided to sign the player, who played in Turkey and Russia  when he was managing other teams in the same leagues,    because his  versatility would  be a big asset for the London side.
